Sweet and Sour Meatballs
A classic favourite.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 pound ground pork (can substitute pork for beef, chicken or turkey)
- 3/4 pound ground round
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
- In a large bowl mix your meat, ground round, cheese, egg, basil, parsley, garlic powder, salt, chili flakes and bread crumbs all together until combined.
- Using your hands roll the meatballs into small bite-sized portions and place them on an un-greased baking sheet.
- Bake until a golden colour and cooked all the way through, this usually takes around 20 minutes.
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
- 12 oz of chili sauce
18 oz grape jelly or cranberry sauce
In a saucepan on a low to medium heat, stir together the chili sauce and grape jelly. Once completely melted add the meatballs and let simmer on a low heat for approximately 30 minutes
